We were trying to convince Julie that it was ok to hop into the box.  However, when we tried to do this, Elsa happily hopped into the box and looked expectantly for a treat.  Eventually, we got Julie in a box.  We are down a lot of treats now.

Not going to venture a guess about their gender so pea-fowl it is.

Clark Botanic Gardens

Drove out to Clark Botanic Gardens today.  It was mostly not worth the drive.  I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt though since it has been a very long and very hot summer.

New landscaping around the house.  No more sad, mostly dead hawthorn bushes.  These are the bushes from the Fort Worth Botanic Garden sale.

Wishing for a retake

Taken earlier this summer at the Dallas Arboretum.  If it weren't so far over there (and they didn't want $12 to get in) I would love to take a better version of this picture.  I love the texture and color in this fountain but absolutely no part of this picture is quite in focus.

The taming of the stew

Here's hoping it's good.  Turns out I didn't have all of the ingredients I had intended to add.  When in a pinch, add more spices.  Good thing I  bought another rosemary plant!

It's a beautiful morning...doh!

Right about here there was supposed to be some text about a perfect Friday morning filled with a magical Texas Pecan latte (Addison roasters baby!)...then I realized the coffee grinder had taken a trip and not returned.  doh!
